The No-Show was bought in April 2024 in a three-pack sold as invisible, for wearing with loafers and sneakers in weather too warm for proper socks. It was beige and thin, with a strip of silicone at the heel that was supposed to hold it in place.
The silicone had other plans. Within ten minutes of any walk, the No-Show began working its way down the heel and under the arch of the foot, where it bunched into a small damp knot. Retrieval required a bench and a short private struggle. Its owner got good at finding benches.
In fairness, it was invisible for most of its career. It was usually somewhere inside the shoe where nobody could see it, including its owner.
When it finally disappeared altogether in September 2025, its owner assumed it was still in the shoe. The shoe was shaken over a wastebasket. Then the wastebasket had to be searched. It was not in the wastebasket. It was not in the other shoe either, which was checked out of fairness.
Sold as invisible. A complaint feels difficult to justify.
